Marks & Spencer is excited to bring forward proposals for a brand new M&S Foodhall on land north of Dittons Road, Stone Cross.
The c.16,000 sq. ft store would offer the very best of M&S Food for residents, including the full range of over 6,600 products.
A planning application has now been submitted to Wealden District Council (Ref: WD/2025/2316/MAJ). If you would like to see the new M&S Foodhall delivered, we would love to have your support.

A Fresh Opportunity for Stone Cross
The proposals represent an opportunity to deliver a high quality new Foodhall to meet the needs of Stone Cross and the surrounding area.
The store would be designed to complement existing local shopping provision, including the nearby Lidl and town centre shops. Dedicated car and cycle parking, nearby bus connections and a carefully planned layout would make the store convenient for customers travelling by different means. The proposals also include electric vehicle charging, energy efficient systems and biodiversity improvements.

High quality fresh produce sourced from M&S Select Farm Partners
Instore click and collect – enabling customers to easily collect online fashion, home and beauty orders.
Up to 70 new local jobs across a range of roles.
Flowers, plants and a small selection of non food products, such as cards and stationery.
Site Location
The site is located on land north of Dittons Road, Stone Cross, near the junction of the A27 and A22. It is adjacent to a care home and close to recently completed housing developments, making it well placed to serve local residents.
A bus stop on Dittons Road provides public transport access, while the proposed scheme includes car and cycle parking. The store is designed to sit comfortably alongside nearby retail provision.
